MyCurator adds new content curation features

With version 1.2.0 to be released soon, MyCurator will have a new Bookmarklet tool that will allow you to capture any article to your training page while you browse the web on your computer, tablet or phone!

Get It Bookmarklet Tool

Get It is a bookmarklet: a little app that runs in your browser and lets you grab bits of the web.

Use Get It to save articles to your training page as you are reading them in your browser or iPad! Now you can add all of the content you find while browsing the web, twitter and your social networks. The content you discover on your own can be posted right into the training page along with all of the content that MyCurator has discovered. The full readable page will be saved and you can use the new article to train MyCurator as well as curate it onto your live blog.  No matter how you source it, MyCurator is your central repository for good content.

Ready for WordPress 3.5

WordPress 3.5 will be out in December.  The WordPress team will be removing the Links menu item from the base install of WordPress.  Since MyCurator uses the Links pages, we have added code that will continue to keep the Links menu items available for MyCurator users.  While the WordPress team has said that they will always support the Links pages, we are exploring some faster and easier ways to enter sources.  You should see these in future releases.

Important: before upgrading to WordPress 3.5 you MUST have installed MyCurator version 1.2.0 or above.  If you don’t, you will see your MyCurator menu item disappear until you have upgraded.

New Pricing by Topic

We will be changing our pricing to move from Volume based plans to Topic and Site based plans.  The new pricing is based on the number of WordPress Categories on your site that can receive curated content from MyCurator. For example an e-Wallet start-up may have an Industry News category and a Mobile Payments Technology category, each receiving targeted content from MyCurator. Since each WordPress category is served curated content by one MyCurator Topic, each plan allows a different number of Topics to be created.  No volume restrictions will apply to any of the plans.

The Individual Plan will allow 2 Topics on a single site and it will still be free!

The Pro Plan will allow up to 8 Topics on a single site.  Pricing will stay at $10 per month.

The Business Plan will allow unlimited Topics on up to 10 sites.  Pricing will also increase to $30 per month.

Important: Current customers will NOT be required to scale back to these limits.  For example if you have 6 Topics on an individual plan, you can continue to use all 6 Topics.  You will not be able to create any more Topics without upgrading.  Similarly, a Pro plan user with 3 site API Keys will be able to keep them, but they will not be able to add any more.
